SAPD: Driver in critical condition after shooting on Highway 281

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is investigating a shooting that now has one man in critical condition.

Investigators say it happened Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. on Highway 281 near downtown. At this point, police do not think the shooting was the result of road rage.

SAPD says the driver was heading south on Highway 281 when an unknown suspect pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle and fired a shot. The bullet hit the driver in the lower body.

Officers found the victim inside his car after he got off the highway at the Josephine exit and called 911.

This is a developing story and KTSA News will give more details when possible.
