SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is looking for a suspect responsible for the shooting of a woman while she was driving a car on the northwest side, and maybe a witness who might have been in the car with her when she was hit.

Investigators say the shooting happened early Monday and police are now hoping surveillance video from locations nearby will shed some light on who may have been involved. The woman was hit in the head by a bullet that passed through a window and through her headrest before it lodged in the back of her head. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

KSAT reports the woman was on the phone with a man at the time of the shooting, and police say that he heard another man’s voice in the car with the woman. Investigators believe the man was telling the woman to speed up just before the shot was fired.

It is unknown if the man on the phone had any involvement in the shooting, and police are looking for a possible passenger who was in the car as a witness.

Investigators say the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. and they believe the woman had called 911 just before the shooting.
