SAPD: Man arrested after woman stabbed to death on South Side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing on the South Side.

Officers were called to a house the 100 block of Division Avenue on report of domestic violence around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, a woman in her 40s was found dead with multiple stab wounds.

Police arrested James Mendoza, 52, and charged him with murder. Investigators say Mendoza was found in the home with self-inflicted wounds to his chest and wrist. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

There is no word on what led to the stabbing, and the victim’s name has not been released.
