SAPD Officer hurt after being dragged across parking lot
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man accused of dragging a San Antonio police officer across a parking lot is facing multiple charges.
Police were called to a QT convenience store on the Northwest Side Monday around 10 p.m. Upon arrival, an employee came running out telling officers a man had just stolen beer from the store. Police were also given a description of the car, a blue 2022 Ford Mustang.
Investigators say the suspect was still at the scene, and one officer opened the door of the car. At that point, police say the suspect tried to pull away with the door open and the officer still hanging on. The officer suffered minor injuries before the car stopped and the suspect was arrested.
In addition to a charge of aggravated assault of a peace officer, the suspect is also being charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and theft of less than $2,500.
