SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – After getting some flak for excluding Julian Castro from a skit on a Democratic presidential debate, Saturday Night Live spoofed him this past weekend.

The former San Antonio mayor and ex-Hud Secretary was portrayed by actor Lin-Manuel Miranda of “Hamilton” fame in a skit about CNN’s recent town hall, “Equality in America,” focusing on LGBTQ issues.

“First of all, gracias,” said Miranda,” drawing laughter from the audience.

“As a Democrat, I want to apologize for not being gay, but I promise to do better in the future,” Miranda said. “However, I am Latino, which we can all agree is something.”

Castro’s character went on to say,” I’m young, I’m diverse, I’m Latino-bama. Let’s get that hashtag going, Latino-bama.”

His segment ended with Miranda saying,”Vote for me for Vice-President.” He quickly corrected himself, “President.”

In case you missed it, here’s the skit.
