SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man was stabbed in a popular New Braunfels shopping center Monday evening over a mutual dispute involving a love interest.

New Braunfels police say it happened at the Creekside shopping center off of FM 306 at around 9:40 p.m.

The 20-year-old male victim was taken to the nearby Resolute Hospital by several of his friends.

Police met the victims and his friends there and were able to figure out the identity and address of the attacker.

New Braunfels police contacted Schertz police who arrested 21-year-old Jared Herrington at his home on Exchange Avenue.

Harrington has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.

The victim was eventually transferred to SAMMC and is currently in stable condition.

New Braunfels police say the investigation continues.
