SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News)  — The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the search for several illegal immigrants who ran off during a human smuggling bust.

At around 5:30 A.M. Wednesday, U.S. Border Patrol agents were about to break up the smuggling attempt near the City of Uvalde landfill.

Several of the illegal immigrants jumped out of a light colored S-U-V and ran away.

Some of them have been taken into custody but more are still on the loose.

The number of immigrants they are looking for and the number they brought in hasn’t been released but the agencies are still searching the area.
