Services today to honor Gonzales County Sheriff Robert Ynclan

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Gonzales County Sheriff Robert Ynclan will be laid to rest today.

Visitation services will begin at 12 p.m. at the JB Wells Expo Center in Gonzales. The Memorial Service will start at 2 p.m. A processional to La Union Mexicana Cemetery behind Graham’s Cattle will follow the service.

Ynclan died Sunday after a lengthy battle against coronavirus that began in August.

“Rest In Peace, Gonzales County Sheriff Robert Ynclan,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said Sunday. “This gentle giant, who was a great friend and partner in law enforcement… Prayers for his family and his agency.”

Ynclan, a Fredericksberg native, had a tenured career as a Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety and retired after 35 years. He ran for Gonzales County Sheriff last year and was appointed January 1.
