Several injuries reported in crash involving East Central ISD school bus

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News)– A few dozen students were on board a school bus when it crashed into a an 18-wheeler in East Bexar County Friday morning.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the East Central ISD bus was carrying more than 30 students when the crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 87 East.
KENS 5 reports that several of the students have minor injuries, mostly scrapes and bruises, with some of them being transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The sheriff’s office hasn’t released the exact number of passengers who were injured.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
