SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A slight risk of severe thunderstorms is forecast for areas east of Austin and San Antonio Monday night.

The National Weather Service said the highest risk for severe weather is east of Bastrop — what forecasters consider to be a “slight” risk.

Areas east of Georgetown, Austin, Gonzales, and Cuero have a “marginal” risk of severe weather, while the general greater San Antonio area has a chance for some thunderstorms that are not anticipated to be severe.

The greatest risks in the more severe-prone areas from these storms will be hail that could be up to the size of golf balls as well as gusty winds.  The storms are likely to come through between 9 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday.
