SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The name of the woman whose burned remains were discovered along Highway 211 has been released.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says the woman has been identified as 39 year old Norma Pacheco.

Salazar says her cause of death is homicide.  How her body ended up along a remote highway is still under investigation.

Pacheco was never reported missing by her family. Salazar says Pacheco’s relatives referred to her as a “free spirit”.  They would often go weeks without hearing from her.

Pacheco’s body was discovered on April 4th when officials were investigating a report of a fire.

The Sheriff is asking anyone who knows Norma Pacheco to get in touch with his office. They are working to piece together the chain of events that lead to her death.
