Shocking Case of Child Abuse

A shocking and horrific case of child abuse in Northeast Bexar County–one that has even the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at a loss for words to describe it.

“To call this horrific would be an understatement” James Keith with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office told KTSA News. He said Deputies got the call about what was happening at that home on Chipping–near New World–late Thursday Night.

“A caller told dispatchers they could hear a child crying in the back yard, and this had been going on for quite a long period of time” Keith said.

Deputies who showed up a short time later found nothing short of a house of horrors.

“They found two toddlers in the backyard. One of them–a little boy–was chained to the ground. The other–a little girl–she was tied to a door with a dog leash” Keith said.

From there, Deputies made their way inside of the home.

“They found six more children–the youngest being ten-months old. All of them abandoned–without supervision from an adult” Keith said.

The mother of the six children found inside of the home showed up a short time later and were taken in to custody. She is also believed to be responsible for the care of the two children found in the yard. At last check, both of those young children were recovering at Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.
