SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An unforgettable evening of rock and roll classics is coming to the Tobin Center.

Jim Messina will be performing at the Carlos Alvarez Theater in September.

Messina, who is best known as one half of the duo Loggins and Messina with Kenny Loggins, has also been in a couple of legendary bands. Buffalo Springfield in the 1960’s, then as a founding member of Poco in 1968.

As the 1970’s began, Messina joined up with newcomer Kenny Loggins and the duo went on to perform around the world while scoring hits with “Your Mama Don’t Dance”, “Thinking of You” and “Angry Eyes”.

By the time Loggins and Messina broke up in 1976, they had sold more than 16 million albums.

Jim Messina continued as a solo act and would occasional take part in reunions with his former band mates.

He managed to score one last Top 40 hit with Poco in 1989 with “Nothin’ To Hide”.
