Sixteen-year-old girl shot and killed under mysterious circumstances

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) –San Antonio police are investigating the shooting death of a 16-year-old girl at a Southwest Side home Monday night.
The teen’s boyfriend told police he saw Janice Bazan playing with a gun. He claims he was in the kitchen around 11:30 Monday night when he heard a shot ring out in a back bedroom. When he went to see what happened, he found Bazan with a gunshot wound to the torso. He drove her to a hospital and she died early this morning.
Police say they searched the home and did not find a gun. They also searched his car, but no weapon was found. He told police he doesn’t know where the gun is. He was taken to police headquarters for further questioning as the investigation continues.
