(Texas News Radio) — A snail-paced police chase brought Interstate 35 to less than a crawl Wednesday morning.

KWTX-TV reports Waco police were responding to a call for some spat going on between two men on the interstate.

On their way to that call, officers spotted a driver going 11 miles per hour on the highway.  That prompted TxDOT to shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate just before 8:45 a.m.

Police tried stopping the driver, but he keep crawling northbound, stopping at one point, before starting again. A DPS trooper tried using the PIT maneuver to stop the slow mover.

He eventually came to a stop in Lacy Lakeview.  A K9 unit got the driver out of the car.

The man, who has not been identified, will likely face a charge of evading in a motor vehicle.  It’s not clear if he was involved in the original call.
