Soft Drink Crackdown in Bexar

It’s a New Year’s resolution asking you to make smarter drink choices.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff said it’s an education campaign.

“We’re not trying to tell anybody what they gotta do, or take any right away from them,” Wolff told KTSA News. “We’re saying we want you to be educated with respect to how much sugar you are getting in a drink.”

He said in a 20oz bottle of sugary drink, you’re getting about 16 packs of sugar.

“Be aware of what you’re doing to yourself and sugar today is the third number of calories that young people get today, the third most calories is sugar drinks.”

It’s about moderation, Wolff said, it’ll save you headaches later on.
