SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Some local students will be late to class today because of closures on Highway 90 near Hunt Lane.

Barry Perez with the Northside School District told KTSA News about 15 schools could be affected by the school bus delays.

“It’s primarily our secondary level, so middle schools and high schools are affected a little more,” Perez said.

Students who are late will be allowed to have breakfast on campus and they will not be marked tardy.

Some Southwest School District buses also are being delayed by the Highway 90 closure.

“Our school buses will be delayed up to 45 minutes for our elementary, middle, and high schools, both for the morning and afternoon pick ups. To avoid any further delays or confusion, we ask that students please be at their bus stop at their regularly scheduled time,” the district tweeted this morning.

The closures on Highway 90 near Hunt Lane remain in effect as San Antonio Water System crews repair a sewer line under the highway.

The work could continue through the Memorial Day weekend.
