Southside Annexation Plan Before City Council

The City of San Antonio looks poised to grow in a big way Thursday.

City Council is set to vote on a big expansion on the Southside.

“City Council will effectively bring about twenty square miles in to the City Limits”┬áthe City’s Peter Zanoni told KTSA News ahead of Thursday’s meeting.

“This area was placed in to a three-year, limited purpose annexation state back in January of 2014… that gave the City and the community time to evaluate the annexation” Zanoni said, adding “We’ve made some adjustments. Some properties have been left out of the annexation plan, and others have been added to voluntary requests to be annexed.”

Separately, the City continues to study the possibility of annexing areas west of I-10, and around U.S. Highway 281 North.
