Spotify says – again- it will not oust Joe Rogan

UNDATED (AP) – Spotify says it won’t use the c-word – cancellation – on Joe Rogan, even after a video surfaced of the podcast host repeatedly using the n-word.

The streaming service’s CEO is out with a new statement, saying it won’t part with the podcaster who’s under fire both for using the slur – and for spreading coronavirus misinformation.

Grammy-winning musician India.arie put out a montage of Rogan using the slur on his shows.

In response, Rogan has posted a video apology in which he says the word was taken out of context.

But he says he has no right to use it – and won’t do it anymore. In a message to Spotify workers yesterday, CEO Daniel Ek says, “I do not believe that silencing Joe is the answer.”
