Stage 1 water restrictions begin Monday for New Braunfels Utilities customers

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A serious lack of rain, intense heat and increased water usage means Stage 1 drought restrictions are coming to New Braunfels.

New Braunfels Utilities is reporting that the Edwards Aquifer Level has dropped enough to put the restrictions in place beginning Monday, July 13.

How will Stage 1 restrictions impact NBU customers?

The regulation means you can only use a lawn sprinkler or irrigation system on certain days, based on your address.

During Stage 1 Water Restrictions, the schedule for the use of a sprinkler or irrigation system is as follows:

Addresses ending 0 and 1: Monday

Addresses ending 2 and 3: Tuesday

Addresses ending 4 and 5: Wednesday

Addresses ending 6 and 7: Thursday

Addresses ending 8 and 9: Friday

Use of a sprinkler or irrigation system is not permitted on the weekends.

However, you can use a hand-held hose, bucket, soaker hose, or drip irrigation system on any day at any time during Stage 1.

You can keep track of the water restrictions at the New Braunfels Utilities website.
