SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — When people find out that I lived in Bangor, Maine for many years the  question I am often asked is “Ever meet Stephen King?”

Why yes, yes I have.  I was fortunate enough to work at the radio stations he and his wife own in the “Queen City”.

The prolific author of many modern horror classics has a house in Bangor, a city that is home to about 32,000 hearty souls.

People find themselves in the city for several reasons. Usually it’s during the summer months. Tourist will often stop in to do some shopping before they make their way to the many nearby coastal destinations.

For many, a trip to Bangor isn’t complete until they drive by Stephen King’s house to take a picture. King bought the 19th century Victorian mansion in 1980.

It’s not hard to spot. It’s the only place in town with an iron gate complete with spider webs and bats surrounding the property.

One Stephen King fan decided that driving by and taking a picture wasn’t going to be enough.  He decided to take a video of himself dancing in the street in front of the house.

Good thing he stayed away from the storm drains.

For the record, the home is not open for tours and  a “King spotting” is extremely rare but you can take selfies from the sidewalk in front of the gate.

If you dare.
