SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A survey asking residents and tourists their thoughts on horse-drawn carriages in San Antonio is getting a big response.

As of Monday morning, 47,000 responses were submitted by people who wanted to weigh on on the subject.

The survey opened July 25.

City Council is looking into the possibility of doing away with the carriages but the survey asks residents if they prefer some other options.

They are:

Should the horse-drawn carriages be replaced by electric carriages and pedi-cabs.

Continuing the carriage rides but move them into city parks away form the downtown area.

Continue the rides but with alternate hours in areas outside of downtown

Keeping them as is.

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will discuss the survey results along with city staff recommendations during an August 19 meeting.
