Survey ranks Texas as 7th “Most Fun State in America”

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Looking for a good time?  If you’re in Texas, you’re in the right place.

That’s according to a new survey conducted by the personal finance website WalletHub.

They were looking for the most fun state in America and the results are in with Texas ranking number 7 nationwide.

WalletHub used 26 key metrics, ranging from nightlife options to the cost of going to the movies to determine which state is the place to be if you want to have fun.

The areas Texas did the best include:

Restaurants per capita, tied for 1st with California, New York and Florida

Movie theaters per capita, tied with California for 1st

Amusement parks per capita

Fitness centers per capita, tied with California for 1st

According to the survey, Florida is the most fun state in America with California, Nevada, New York and Colorado rounding out the top 5.

The least fun state?

That unfortunate distinction goes to West Virginia, even though John Denver claimed it’s “almost heaven” in his song Take Me Home, Country Roads”. But that was recorded in 1971. Obviously, things have changed for the Mountain State.
