Suspect in San Antonio shooting found dead in Selma

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 43 year old man suspected of shooting a woman during an argument has been found dead.

The altercation took place at a hotel parking lot located in the 1800 block of North Loop 1604 near highway 281 Sunday morning.  Steven Ruiz shot 44 year old Darlene Seibert in the abdomen.

Seibert managed to run back inside to get help and Ruiz ran off.  Officers eventually tracked him down at a house in Selma and found his body inside. he was dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

No word on how the pair knew each other or what could have started the argument.

There’s been no update on Seibert’s condition.
