Temporary closure to impact access to Overlook Park and dam at Canyon Lake

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake says Overlook Park is going to be closed for several weeks.
Starting November 7 and lasting through December 23, the entire area will be closed for pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
That’s going to impact access to the dam near the lake office and Overlook areas.
Javier Pérez Ortiz is Canyon Lake Manager. He released the following statement:
“We must provide a safe environment for our visitors and in order to ensure their safety we will be restricting access until the work is complete.”
In the meantime, those who want to enjoy the walking trails around Canyon Lake are encouraged to use the Madrone Trail or the John Hancock Trail.
