SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Retired Spurs great Tony Parker will be the grand marshal of the Texas Cavaliers Fiesta River Parade this year. The theme is “2020 Vision.”

“His vision from the 3-point line was like no other,” Texas Cavaliers parade marshal Paul Rohlfs, Jr.  told KTSA News.

However, Parker isn’t just being recognized for his basketball skills. The Cavaliers are honoring him for his good deeds off the court, as well.

“It’s his off-the-court vision that makes him a superstar and a perfect fit for our ‘2020 Vision’ parade,” said Rohlfs. “Since his retirement, he started an academy in his home country (France) where children wanting to train at basketball have the best coaches on the court and off the court, serving as mentors in the student’s field of study.”

Tickets are on sale for the Texas Cavaliers River Fiesta River Parade April 20, 2020.

Proceeds benefit children’s  charities, and this year’s Charitable Honoree is the Will Smith Zoo School.  Last year, the Texas Cavaliers awarded more than $1.5 million to children’s charities.
