Texas DPS to open select offices for Saturday appointments in October
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Having trouble finding time to get to a Texas Department of Public Safety Office during the week.
There’s good news.
The agency says they are going to offer Saturday appointments at select driver license offices statewide through the end of October. Participating offices are located across the state and will be open half days every Saturday during the month.
Customers needing a driver’s license or identification card renewal or replacement can make an appointment. Some locations will offer appointments for new Texas resident driver license and identification card services.
DPS opened some offices in September and while the appointments filled up quickly, about 30% of those who made an appointment failed to show up and did not cancel them.
Texas DPS is asking anybody who makes a Saturday appointment to cancel ahead of time if you cannot make it. This enables staff to assign that time slot to someone else.
