Texas gets no restraining order in lawsuit over Bexar County voting effort
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Bexar County says it is all about increasing voter registration.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is concerned about voter fraud.
Nonetheless, a Bexar County judge is denying a motion for a restraining order and injunction filed by Texas. It comes after county commissioners voted to finalize a deal with a company called Civic Government Solutions (CGS) that would send voter registration forms to eligible voters in selected areas.
The lawsuit also argues that Bexar County had no legal authority to approve a contract with CGS to send out voter registration forms.
Paxton says the mailed forms could lead to voter fraud. He also thinks CGS is a left-wing organization.
Unknown is the number of voter registration forms that have been mailed.
This is a developing story and KTSA News will give more details when possible.
