Texas Gov. Abbott caught cheating on Chick-fil-A with Popeyes

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Texas governor Greg Abbott has been caught on video cheating.

Well, cheating on Chick-fil-A.

The governor posted a video on Twitter showing him chowing down on Popeyes chicken in an office.

Abbott had highlighted his Chick-fil-A dinner one evening while the state legislature was in the process of passing the ‘Chick-fil-A Bill’ after the San Antonio city council chose to bar the Georgia-based chicken chain from having its brand be included in an airport concessions contract.

Tuesday, the governor got in on the internet feud that’s been brewing between two southern fast food chains since Louisiana-based Popeyes came out with its own chicken sandwich.

Abbott, who clearly got caught in the video, claims this affair with Popeyes is just “a one time fling.”
