Texas man loses 250 pounds in order to land his dream job

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Ever want a job so bad….. you were willing do to anything to get it,  like losing more than half of your body weight?

That’s what one very persistent man managed to do in order to become Montgomery County deputy constable.

42 year old Chad Dodge used to be a reporter for several blogs in Harris and Montgomery Counties.

As you can imagine, being a reporter can be a very sedentary occupation.

3 years ago,  Dodge was working on a story about the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Citizens Police Academy and while doing his research, he became interested in a career in law enforcement.

However, there was one big obstacle.

Dodge weighed close to 470 pounds.

So he had bypass surgery and hit the gym, real hard. With hard work and determination, Dodge lost nearly 250 pounds!

His first application for the job wasn’t successful, he failed the gun range test.

Dodge tried again and he was finally sworn in on Tuesday.

Check out his before, during and after photos.
