Thieves crash stolen car while trying to get away from San Antonio Police

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A chase through a Southwest side neighborhood left a big mess Wednesday morning.
It was just after 3 A.M. when two men with guns stole a vehicle from a man as he was waiting for the gate to his apartment complex on SW Loop 410 to open up.
They got away with the SUV but a short time later, officers spotted the stolen vehicle and began following it.
When the driver noticed the officer, he sped up and after crashing though a fence, hitting a parked car and slamming into a fire hydrant, the pair jumped out of the SUV at War Horse Drive and made a run for it.
One of the men was caught but police were not able to locate the second man.
The investigation continues.
