Retired police officer, 2 Army veterans killed by suspected drunk driver in Kerr County

UPDATE:

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A 28-year-old suspected drunk driver accused of killing three members of a law enforcement motorcycle club is behind bars in Kerr County. Ivan Robles Navejas is charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter and six counts of intoxication assault.

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office says members of the Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club were traveling on Highway 16 Saturday afternoon when Navejas crossed the center line and plowed into six motorcycles.

Three men were killed and nine others were injured.  Some of the injured remain hospitalized.

Family and friends are mourning the loss of Jerry Wayne Harbour of Houston who was in his 70s.  The retired Army officer and former commercial airlines pilot also was known as “Wings.”

Michael White also was a U.S. Army Veteran and an officer with the Niles police department. He served as secretary of the Chicago chapter of the Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement Motorcycle club.

Forty-eight-year-old Joseph Paglia of Chicago, a retired Niles police officer, was president of the club’s Chicago Chapter.

Thin Blue Line Foundation spokesman David Weed said members of the motorcycle club were in Bandera for the Foundation’s annual meeting, which was to have taken place Saturday afternoon.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) Three people have been killed, nine others transported to hospitals after a crash involving members of the Thin Blue Line Law Enforcement  Motorcycle Club Saturday afternoon in Kerr County.

The Kerr County Sheriff’s office confirmed that those involved in the crash were on Highway 16  when the driver of a vehicle  crossed the center stripe and crashed into the group. The driver, identified as Ivan Robles Navejas, has been arrested on several charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

DPS Sgt. Orlando Moreno said the accident occurred shortly after 12 pm Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as  Jerry Wayne Harbour from Houston, Michael White from Chicago and Joseph Paglia from Chicago.

The ride was in celebration of the club’s  birthday.
