SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Downed power lines, uprooted trees, scattered tree limbs, a trampoline blown onto a street and power outages are just some of the damage being reported following thunderstorms late Sunday and early Monday.

As of 3:15 a.m., more than 33,000 CPS Energy customers were without power.

Some area residents called the National Weather Service to report a possible tornado, but meteorologist Orlando Bermudez says you can attribute much of the damage to straight line winds.

“We had a couple of signatures over the whole period that indicated some sort of rotation, but nothing touching the ground,” said Bermudez.

He told KTSA News the strongest winds were 63 miles per hour at Joint Base San Antonio Randolph.

The National Weather Service reports hail as large as two inches in diameter near Mountain Home in Kerr County.
