Toyota Texas expands facility on San Antonio’s South Side, creating 400 new jobs

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — More than 400 jobs are coming to San Antonio’s South Side.

Toyota says they are currently building a new stand-alone facility near their manufacturing plant.

The company says it’ll be used to develop systems for trucks and SUV’s. Vehicles will have lower costs once the parts are produced locally.

Susann Kazunas, Toyota Texas president says:

“Our team members are ready for this new opportunity to grow our plant’s capabilities and workforce. They are highly capable, innovative and have a steadfast commitment to our products. We are proud to celebrate that spirit and the long-term job stability the investment represents, and we are excited to welcome 400 new team members to Toyota Texas.”

The 500,000 square foot $531 million facility is scheduled for completion in two years with new hires coming starting in 2025.
