Trial date set for man accused of killing his wife, burning her body

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A trial date is now set for a man accused of killing his wife and then burning her dismembered body.

Andre McDonald will go on trial January 17, 2023. He was charged with murdering Andreen McDonald after her remains were found in July 2019, months after she was last seen in late February that year.

McDonald was arrested March 3, about a week after his wife was reported missing, for tampering with evidence. Investigators say they found blood in the McDonald home and also other supplies that might be used to dispose of a body, including a shovel, ax, and gasoline.

McDonald later bonded out of jail in Bexar County, but remained under full house arrest until he was charged with murder.

If convicted, McDonald is facing up to life in prison.
