Tropical Storm Hanna expected to make Corpus Christi area landfall as hurricane

BEXAR COUNTY, Tex. (KTSA News) — Tropical Storm Hanna is expected to make landfall Saturday as a category one hurricane.

The National Weather Service in New Braunfels said landfall is currently anticipated for Saturday afternoon south of Corpus Christi.

Heavy rain is expected south of Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 90 and the weekend total predicted to be about one to two inches in the San Antonio area.  Some areas, primarily east of Interstate 37 and south of Interstate 10, could see up to three inches of rain.  Lower totals are expected in the Hill Country.

The threat of flooding in the San Antonio metro area is most significant south of Loop 410.
