UPDATE 6:10 p.m.:

The wreckage from the overturned 18-wheeler has been cleared and all of the lanes have been reopened.

ORIGINAL:

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A rolled over 18-wheeler has shut down the upper level of Interstate 10 near downtown San Antonio Wednesday afternoon.

A truck carrying lumber overturned at around 2 p.m. as it was going eastbound on Interstate 10 between Culebra and Hildebrand when it lost control and overturned.  The wood spilled all across the highway.

San Antonio police say the upper level will be closed for a while as crews get the truck and lumber removed.

Police say the truck driver suffered minor injuries, but is expected to be fine.  They also expect the lanes will remain closed through the afternoon rush hour.  They recommend using U.S. 281 or State Highway 151 instead.
