Truck driver seriously injured in early morning crash

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A truck driver suffered some serious burns after crashing a gravel truck.

The truck burst into flames at around 1 A.M. Thursday after it hit a concrete barrier and rolled into the median of 1604 West at Shaenfield.

The driver did manage to escape the burning truck but he has some 3rd degree burns.

AirLife flew him to University Hospital.

Crews say it’s going to take some time to clear the wreckage and the Westbound lanes of 1604 between Bandera Road and Shaenfield will be closed for several more hours .

The driver tells investigators he lost control of his truck after another motorist cut him off.
