Before his Spurs took on Cleveland Saturday, Coach Pop sounded off on President Donald Trump.
“There’s a difference between respecting the Office of the Presidency and who occupies it,” he said that respect needs to be earned. “Our President comes in with the lowest rating of anybody whoever came into the office.”
He said he wished Trump had the ability to be mature enough to do something that is truly inclusive.
“But so far, you’ve gotten to a point where you really can’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth,” Pop said. “I just would feel better if somebody was in that position that showed the maturity and psychological and emotional level of somebody that was his age, it’s dangerous and it doesn’t do us any good.”
But Pop did say he hopes Trump does a good job.
