Tubing Fee Possible

It could soon cost you a little more to go tubing in New Braunfels.

Mayor Baron Casteel says the City Council is looking into a proposal to charge non-residents a two dollar fee to go tubing on the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers.

He says the money would be used to keep the rivers and area parks clean. It would also pay for some additional Police presence.

The proposal calls for the fee to be charged on weekends and long holiday weekends during the summer months and City Council is going to have more discussions on the proposal before they vote on it.
