SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two alleged gang members from Houston were arrested Wednesday after a traffic stop in Atascosa County yielded nearly 10 pounds in methamphetamine.

The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and Texas Highway Patrol troopers stopped a 2009 Chrysler SUV on U.S. 281 south of Pleasanton Wednesday morning.  During that stop, they found four plastic containers each filled with meth weighing 9.5 pounds in total.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $320,775.

The two alleged gang members from Houston, who were not publicly identified, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver over 400 grams of a controlled substance.   That crime is a first degree felony.

Along with the drugs, deputies and troopers found a 17-year-old girl who had been reported missing from the Houston area.  Investigators are interviewing the girl to see if she had been a victim of human trafficking.
