Two dead, five injured in drive-by on San Antonio’s Southwest side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two people are dead, five others injured in a drive-by shooting on San Antonio’s Southwest side.

According to police, a family was having a barbecue Saturday night in the front yard of a home in the 2500 block of Patron Drive.

At around 10:15 P.M., someone in a dark colored SUV rolled up and started shooting at the group, firing 20 to 30 rounds before taking off.

Police were called to the home and found 7 people had been shot. Two of the victims, both men in their mid-40’s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Five others, three men and two women, were rushed to a hospital with gunshot wounds. The severity of their injuries has not been released.

Several children were at the home as well but none of them were inured.

Police are still gathering information from neighbors as they continue to search for the shooter.
