Two killed in two separate officer involved shootings

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Three local law enforcement officers are on administrative leave after a pair of officer involved shootings in San Antonio.

The first happened late Saturday on Hormel Drive when deputies making a routine traffic stop had to chase a man who jumped out of his car and made a run for it.

The man fired at the deputy who was chasing him. The deputy returned fire and the man was killed.

Deputies found the man’s handgun.

A short time later, a pair of San Antonio police officers were on routine drug patrol when they found a man sitting in his car.

As they approached the vehicle, the man inside tried to run and pulled a gun from his waistband.

The officers opened fire and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three officers are on administrative leave while the shootings are investigated. The practice is standard in officer involved shootings.
