Two malnourished horses receive care after being rescued by Bexar County Deputies

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case in which two malnourished horses were seized from a home in Southwest Bexar County.

Deputies were working on a tip reporting animal cruelty at some property in the 10000 block of Silver Trail.

When they arrived, they found two extremely thin horses with no food or clean water.

There was a bucket for water but it was filled with algae and debris.

The horses have been removed from the property and are receiving veterinary care.

Once they have recovered, they will be transported to Meadow Haven Horse Rescue and Sanctuary.

There’s been no word on charges against the people who were supposed to be taking care of the horses.
