Two men shot, one killed in Devine shooting

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two people were arrested in Williamson County after shooting two people in Devine late Sunday afternoon.

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it got a report of shots being fired at a property on County Road 668.

Deputies found two gunshot victims when they got to the scene.

One victim, 20-year-old Noah Hoover, was flown to a San Antonio hospital where he would eventually die.

The other victim, 34-year-old Jesse Lee Hoover, was taken to the same San Antonio hospital by ambulance.  He underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

The sheriff’s office learned from witnesses the shots were fired from a dark sedan and were able to develop 20-year-old Nathan Gruensteiner as a possible shooter.

His car was located traveling north from Bastrop to Austin.  Williamson County sheriff’s deputy and the Texas Department of Public Safety highway patrol tried to stop the car, but he tried to flee instead.

During that attempt, he crashed and damaged a trooper’s vehicle in the process.

Gruensteiner and his 16-year-old girlfriend were arrested.
