SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — As Police Departments across the country are on high alert following recent mass shootings, there’s word that two Rockport residents have been arrested for making threats against a school district in a social media post.

According to the The Rockport Police Department’s Facebook page, the department learned of the threat Monday and their investigation led them to two local men.

21 year old Edward Mahan and 20 year old Coven Rangel have been booked into the Aransas County Jail on charges of making terroristic threats.

Terroristic Threat is a third degree felony and holds a punishment of 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

The Department says there is no danger to the public or the local school system from the pair.
