Two San Antonio employers make Forbes listing of best large companies

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Forbes magazine has released its listing of the top large employers in the United States and two San Antonio companies have made the top 50.

The listing is based on survey results from nearly 45,000 employees who work at companies with 5,000 or more employees.

The survey asked if employees would recommend their employers to family and friends and what other companies they would suggest.

The final results find the Massachusetts Institute if Technology at number 1. Number 2 is where the first Texas based company shows up. That spot goes to Houston Methodist.

Then at number 5, San Antonio based H-E-B. The grocery chain founded in 1905 employs 145,000 people.

USAA makes it into the top 50 at number 42.
