Two San Antonio sisters hit by driver in SUV as they walk to school

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two teenage girls are in critical condition after they were hit by a driver while they walked to school.

Police say the girls who are sisters were in the 10200 block of Dugas at around 7:30 A.M. Friday when a driver in a Nissan SUV lost control, jumped the curb and got onto the sidewalk.

The girls are 14 and 16 years old and are students at Stevens High School.

They were both trapped under the vehicle until a police officer arrived and managed to free them.

The injuries they sustained are critical.

The driver stayed on the scene and is said to be cooperating with police.

No charges have been filed as officers are still trying to figure out why the driver lost control.
