Two-story H-E-B in New Braunfels has BBQ restaurant, home décor store

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A massive new H-E-B has opened in New Braunfels replacing the former location and its got all the bells and whistles.

H-E-B opened the 122,000 sq. ft store this week. The location is the first two-story store in the company and is now home to a True Texas BBQ restaurant and a Home by H-E-B department.

“With an enhanced in-store experience and commitment to top-quality service and selection, this new store is tailored to serve the needs of this growing community and provide our customers with the best we have to offer,” H-E-B spokesperson Julie Bedingfield said.

H-E-B’s award winning True Texas BBQ will feature indoor seating on both levels of the two-story restaurant.

The company is opening its first Home by H-E-B department that will feature two brands: Haven + Key and Texas Proud. The home décor selection by Haven + Key will include furniture, home textiles and accent pieces. Texas Proud will feature similar items made by Texas-based artisans and will include pieces by Broken Antler in Converse, Lucio Tailoring Co. in San Antonio, Texas Bench Worx in Luling and Rustic Swank in New Braunfels.

The store will include a Meal Simple department, fresh sushi made daily by Sushiya, Blooms floral department, full-service H-E-B pharmacy, healthy living, bakery and more.

Bedingfield said the new location will add 150 new positions and opening are still available at heb.com/careers.

The former store closed this week. The new H-E-B store is located on the same property at Walnut Avenue.
