Two suspects from San Antonio under arrest after body found in Atascosa County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two people are now in custody, both charged in connection to a body that was found on the side of the road in Atascosa County on Tuesday.

Sheriff David Soward is announcing the arrest of 25-year-old David Castleberry and 21-year-old Clarissa Guillen, both residents of San Antonio. They have both been charged with murder in the death of Lucio Carmona, also of San Antonio. Carmona’s body was identified after it was found on a road just north of Pleasanton with assistance from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Soward confirmed during a press conference on Friday that Carmona had been shot, and investigators think he was killed during a robbery.

Through contact with Carmona’s family, investigators figured out that he had last been with Castleberry and Guillen on Tuesday night.

The two suspects were under surveillance in San Antonio on Thursday, and they were both arrested on outstanding warrants while driving a car that had been reported stolen.

Soward says both suspects confessed to their involvement in Carmona’s death, but he did not give extensive details.

The investigation continues and charges against Castleberry and Guillen could be upgraded to capital murder.
